Hi again all,
Arty and I left Honfleur on the morning of Sunday 29 December, motoring west with the satnav set for Montfiquet, centre ville, between Bayeux and Saint-Lô, to meet up with my friends, Melinda and Harry from Utrecht, whom I first met on Cabo Verde, Christmas 2014, and who had recently acquired l'Etable du Château, in this Normandy village, on the site of the original château, as a holiday home with gîtes...
...which was a lot cosier inside than it looks on a dull winter's day. Arty and I were very comfortable in the apartment in the roof space, which is accessed by the external staircase, seen here at the back of the main house...
...and the next morning was cold...
...but bright. So Melinda and I headed for the coast at Arromanches and here she is, taking charge of Arty...
...so that i can take a few photos...
...where you can just about see parts of the WW2 Mulberry Harbour in the distance...
...despite the high tide...
...and then there's this section of Bailey Bridge...
...and the odd gun...
...on display outside the Museum...
...dedicated to the D-Day Landings...
...lest we forget.
More soon.
Love,
Philip Xx
